Elders

We encourage the involvement of someone who each student participant considers to be a Tribal Elder. This might be a parent, grandparent, spouse, or other member of the student?s tribe or family who has supported his or her educational efforts in the past or who has shown a sincere interest in his or her career development.
Each Elder will be invited to attend a celebration at Iowa State University at the expense of the program., tentatively scheduled for July 12-14. During the Jamboree, each student will describe his or her career goals, the Elders will convey their hopes for the students, and the research mentors will describe the Summer program?s goals. Together, we can make this program a great success!
