2008 George Washington Carver Summer Internship Program
George Washington Carver Biography
Hello, and thank you for visiting my page. I would like to take some time and introduce myself. My Name is Marcus Begay and I am a 2008 Summer
Intern for the GWC Internship Program. A friend of mine has been a part of this program for the past three summers and recommended that I apply
to attend the program this summer. Eventually, I applied and a couple day's later I recieved a phone call from Marcus Glenn asking if I was still
interested in attending the Internship, and I told him that I was. For the next few weeks I would get a call from Marcus to see if I was still interested
and again I told him that I was. Weeks go by and the thing I know, I'm on a flight to Ames, IA. If you are considering an internship, don't hesitate
to apply for the GWC Program. It is an eight week program that is full of activities and opportunities to conduct research in many different areas.
When I first arrived at the PI Station I was informed that there were over 20,000 different types of corn. I was
shocked because I thought that corn was the same no matter what.
